CURRENT PROJECTS

Boothbay Harbor Shipyard specializes in the design and construction of wooden vessels and offers a complete range of marine-related repairs and service for all vessel types. The yard was recently selected as the 2007 Employer of the Year by the Maine Coastal Counties Workforce, Inc. The project gallery highlights some of our ongoing and completed work.

BELLE AVENTURE
Built: 1929 in Scotland
Designer: William Fife & Sons
Builder: William Fife & Sons
LOA: 85'

This classic spent a Maine winter having her hull and support systems reviewed and upgraded. The next phase of this project is the complete refastening of her hull planking. CHEROKEE
Built: 2008
Designer: Olin Stephen at Sparkman and Stephens.Inc
Builder: Team at Museum of Yachting
LOA: 6 meters

The CHEROKEE is being built by a team led by Boothbay Harbor's Yacht Designer and general manager, David Stimson. David is the general manager of the team at Museum of Yachting. It is part of an exhibit of Sparkman and Stephens Inc . On Long Island Sound, in the 1930's, one very popular yacht was the 6-meter racing yacht. Sparkman and Stephens, Inc (S&S) designed 39 of these yachts. Two of these 39 stood out as exemplary: CHEROKEE and JILL. For more general information go to the posting on the
